They are constructed from 8/4" solid hardwood and the cabinets are built extra wide so the slates can be secured directly into the extra thick body. This old-world construction technique makes Legend pool tables more solid, playing faster and truer, representing one of the best values anywhere. The Bridgeport has a contemporary body with straight lines and gently tapered legs. The Bridgeport is made entirely from solid wood. The body, legs and aprons are made from solid tulipwood while the rails are made from hard rock maple. Tulipwood is the wood of choice among the best American furniture and billiard companies because of its strength, smooth grain and ability to hold a stain. Hard rock maple is the wood of choice for a top rail because it can withstand the wear and tear of continual battering from a cue stick. The Bridgeport is available in either 7’ or 8’ size with your choice of a Traditional Cherry or Traditional Mahogany finish.

All too often the consumer paid good money but did not get what they thought they were getting. There are many inaccuracies on the internet that cause unknowing consumers to make bad purchase decisions. In many cases, the pool table was simply not engineered to allow for accurate leveling, or for the proper application of billiard fabric. In other cases, the table was sold as solid wood but in fact it was made mostly of 1” thick MDF panels (saw dust and glue under pressure) which has the appearance of real wood but does not adequately support the weight of a slate pool table.
